Highland Tours Highlights
It’s been a busy winter period with a few fantastic Highland Tours
Here are a couple of tour highlights….
We had an amazing time on the Isle of Barra, flying from Glasgow and landing on the beach was an experience we’ll never forget. In fact, Barra has the world’s only scheduled air service that lands on the beach. Our Twin Otter plane hugging the mountains and lochs as we flew over iconic landmarks such as the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, The Arrochar Alps, Oban and Tobermory on the way out to the Hebrides.
One of the highlights of our visit to Barra was the stunning Kisimul Castle overlooking Castlebay, the only significant surviving medieval castle in the Outer Hebrides. It’s is the seat of the chief of Clan MacNeil, who settled in Barra in the 11th century. Its reached by short boat trip and is an amazing experience.
Its been a great Ski season in Scotland too, with some really fabulous conditions. We have had some fun days skiing in Glencoe and on Cairngorm Mountain. We’ve also been out walking and enjoyed a couple of superb days hillwalking in the crisp snow in the Mountains. We climbed the ‘wee Buchaille’ in Glencoe in February on a wonderful bluebird day with fresh snow and incredible views in every direction!
Looking forward to summer!
